About
The Barra Distillery will be the Outer Hebrides’ first community owned distillery, established as a community benefit society to support development initiatives on Barra and Vatersay through a development trust. With a planned annual output of 25,400 litres, the distillery will offer top-quality whisky through single cask bottlings from island-grown barley fermented, distilled, matured and bottled on the Isle of Barra.
The product is unique not only in the fact that traditional methods will be used to distill, but also to market the whisky as individually-numbered cask bottlings.
