An Interview with Harry & Andrea Holbrook, h2 Natural Health

Your one-stop shop for complementary health therapies, including hypnotherapy counselling, therapeutic massage, food intolerance testing & digestive issues, and homeopathy. Some therapies can also be provided online for clients unable to get to our clinic in Alyth, using Skype or Zoom.

Where in rural Scotland are you based and what do you love about living and working there?

Based in the historic town of Alyth near Blairgowrie, we are convenient for the Glens, Perth and Dundee. With beautiful and energising landscape on our doorstep, living and working here is a therapy in itself!

When did you set up your rural business, and what inspired you to start it?

We established in Alyth in 2011, relocating from Morayshire — recognising the need for a practice that can deliver a wide range of integrated therapies to build strong therapeutic outcomes and resilience in our clients.

What is the biggest challenge you face or have faced running your business in rural Scotland?

Building awareness of our practice amongst a geographically dispersed population.

What’s been your biggest achievement so far?

Establishing a fully-accredited training programme for budding hypnotherapists, with students coming from across Scotland to train with us, who go on to become successful practitioners in their own right.

How do you look after your own health and wellbeing while running your business, and why do you think this is so important?

In the same way that we provide professional supervision to our students, we also have our own supervisors to look after us! Truth be told — living here contributes much to our wellbeing.

What something you have your learned about your business recently?

The pandemic has shown us just how effective complementary therapies can be when done online. Don't let distance be an obstacle!
